The TMS Solutions Programme - for people with emotionally induced chronic back/neck pain
The Integrated Holistic Medical Programme
The Integrated Medical Programme is designed to provide you with a personalised integrated medical programme for addressing the underlying causes of your health challenge. The majority of patients who choose this consultation have one or more of the following: depression, anxiety, addictions, chronic fatigue syndrome, skin problems, women's health problems or digestive problems.
In the first session Dr Mark will make an assessment of your situation, explore the options available to you, arrange testing (if appropriate), agree on the goals of treatment and provide you with a comprehensive health programme. This will usually include advice on diet, nutritional supplementation, lifestyle changes, and actions to be taken, as well as teaching you a number of mind-body self-help techniques.
In the subsequent sessions Dr Mark will use the mind-body approach that is best suited to you and your situation. This will usually include a combination of:
- Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT) - a psychological approach that helps you to change your relationship with painful thoughts and feelings, to develop a transcendent sense of self, to live in the present, and to take action, guided by your deepest values, in order to create a rich and meaningful life.
- Stress Reduction Training - to increase emotional resilience and help you manage stress
- Emotional Skills Training - to increase emotional awareness and to develop a healthy way of processing emotions
- The Choices Method - an energy psychology approach for releasing self-limiting beliefs, fears, obsessive thoughts and phobias
- The Rewind Technique - for safely discharging the emotional component of trauma
- Guided Imagery - to change habits, behaviour and/or patterns of thinking

The cost of each one-hour session is £120
The TMS Solutions Programme
Tension Myoneural Syndrome is regarded by some mind-body medicine doctors as being a common, but often undiagnosed cause of chronic/recurring back, neck, limb and leg pain. My treatment programme combines a number of different psychological and emotionally-focused tools and approaches for recovering from TMS. For detailed information on TMS and its treatment click here
The initial TMS assessment and consultation lasts one hour and costs £120 – this is designed to exclude other possible causes of back pain and to confirm the diagnosis of TMS. Once the diagnosis has been made you will be invited to commence my TMS Solutions Programme
The TMS Solutions Programme costs £200 and includes:
- The Freedom Process for TMS Workbook
- E-Mail Follow-Up & Support
- Two 30 minute telephone calls after 2 and 6 weeks
In addition to this about 30% of my patients will also need to undergo a short-course of psychotherapy treatment.

Payment
Payment is taken at the end of each session and should be either be in the form of a cheque (made payable to Atkinson & Associates) or cash - we cannot unfortunately accept credit cards at present.
